Student Complaints Procedures at CIC
Students can make a complaint in person or in writing. If a complaint is made in writing then the response to that complaint must also be in written form. Students can make a complaint to one or more of the following:
- a Teacher
- the Administration Manager
- the Director of Studies
- the Principal
If a student is not satisfied with how their complaint has been dealt with by CIC then they should contact the College Principal. If still not satisfied with the response, then students can approach one of the following external organisations: the Christchurch Asian Youth Trust, the local Ministry of Education and/or the International Education Appeal Authority.

Christchurch Asian Youth Trust
This organisation was set up to provide information and advice to international students, eg basic living information, information on sporting and cultural groups, contacts and liaison between schools and Asian community groups.

Chinese Parents Support Group
This is located in the Fendalton Service Centre, on the corner of Clyde and Jeffreys Roads, Fendalton, Christchurch.

Law Service
The Christchurch Community Law Centre provides free legal assistance for people who face financial, language or ethnic barriers in accessing justice. Their drop-in legal advice service operates from Monday to Thursday, 5:30 – 7:30 pm and Saturday mornings 9:30 am – 12:30 pm at 281 Madras Street.
