Course Information
The Certificate in Business (Introductory) is a Level 4 entry level qualification for people seeking a career in business or for those wanting to learn more about business operations. This Certificate is also useful for students whose level of English is insufficient to enter the Diploma in Business directly. It can also be used to satisfy the entry requirements for the NCEA Level 3: University Entrance course.
Entry Requirements
- IELTS 4.5
- Students can satisfy the Principal/Director of Studies of their proficiency in English language
Course of Work
This certificate course is completed over two terms of 9 weeks each. The course is designed to be completed so that students can staircase into a Diploma course within a few weeks of completion.
Semester 1
Covers the following papers:
- Business Communications I
- Financial Skills
- Marketing I
- Business Computing I
- First Line Management
Semester 2
Covers the following papers:
- Business Communications II
- Accounting
- Marketing II
- Business Computing II
- Small Business Management
Leads to
- National Diploma in Business (Level 5)
- Diploma in e-Commerce (Level 5)
- NCEA Level 3: University Entrance.
In order to qualify for the CIC Certificate in Business (Introductory), students will need to gain at least 60 credits from the papers listed above.
